Concorde is being closed in the autumn for maintenance as required by the agreement for having the aircraft. An inspection has taken place as per the contract, and Airbus is currently analysing the information gathered. From that, they will determine what maintenance may be required, and where that maintenance will be performed. Until it has been determine what maintenance will be required, they do not have a reopening date for the exhibit.
Airbus is proud of the Concorde legacy and want to ensure it is being looked after properly. From the viewpoint of The Concorde Trust of which I am the chairman,
we are pleased that Airbus is taking steps to ensure the aircraft will be maintained in tip top condition for its eventual move into a purpose built and sustainable Visitor Centre at Cribbs Causeway.
